Priorities

What Robert will Focus on

Sierra Community College has achieved significant progress, expanding its suburban campus and launching major capital projects like the new Science Building. Supported by a $135M (2026-27 adopted) budget funded through Placer County taxpayers, state allocation, federal support, grants, and tuition, the district is well-positioned for growth. To build on this momentum, leadership must focus on key operational, financial, and academic priorities.

Student Affordability & Educational Value

Address rising student housing costs, tuition, and fee structures while continuing to leverage programs like the Zero Textbook Cost initiative.

Faculty Support & Fair Compensation

Address regional wage gaps to elevate full-time and part-time faculty salaries closer to state community college averages.

Collaborative Governance & Labor Relations

Rebuild administrative and faculty union (SCFA) relations following recent Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) filings to ensure successful upcoming contract negotiations.

Course Availability & Timely Completion

Target core prerequisite waitlists to prevent delays in degree completion and university transfers.
